What to expect

Developing your care plan

• Collaborative care planning: Clients are assigned a primary therapist who works with them to develop a personalized care plan that may use information from assessments and screenings, personal history, treatment preferences, recovery goals, mental health needs, and any co-occurring diagnoses. Treatment decisions include client input, and the facility encourages active participation in the process.
• Plans that evolve with progress: The treatment plan can change as the client progresses in recovery. The care team continues to assess client needs, response to treatment, and progress toward recovery goals. Adjustments are made when determined to be appropriate.

Who you will meet with

• Primary therapist and clinical team: A primary therapist is assigned to the client and helps guide the therapeutic process in addition to supporting the client with treatment planning. The broader clinical team may also include counselors and therapists with experience in areas such as trauma and family therapy.
• Medical and case management support: Clients have access to around-the-clock medical and psychiatric support, with onsite medical professionals available as part of the care team. The care team may also include physician and nursing leadership. Case managers help coordinate care and support clients during the transition out of residential care to the next level of support.

Typical schedule

• Structured daily treatment: The facility uses a structured daily routine that may include therapeutic sessions and check-ins based on individual needs. Programs may include individual and group counseling, family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), psychoeducation, relapse prevention, emotional regulation work, and peer support.
• Wellness and experiential activities: Experiential and wellness activities may also be available and may include art therapy, recreational therapy, equine therapy, yoga, fitness, and other holistic approaches.
• Family involvement and support: Family involvement may include family counseling or therapy in addition to taking part in a family support group led by a dedicated therapist. This support may continue into aftercare, allowing loved ones to stay involved as clients transition out of residential care.

Living experiences and amenities

• Comfortable residential setting: The facility is located on a three-acre campus that focuses on comfort. Clients stay in private residences with luxury-style features, and living arrangements can be tailored to meet individual needs.
• Recreation and wellness: Clients may have access to recreation and wellness activities that take place during treatment. These may include swimming in the facility's pool, a fully equipped gym, yoga, equine therapy, massage, acupuncture, chiropractic services, art, music, fishing, golf, kayaking, and beach fitness. Off-campus outings may include peer-support meetings, water activities, fishing, and adventure outings.

Aftercare

• Step-down planning: Prior to discharge, staff work with clients to discuss recovery goals and develop a long-term plan. This may include stepping down from residential treatment into a partial hospitalization program (PHP), intensive outpatient program (IOP), or standard outpatient treatment.
• Ongoing recovery support: Case management, connection to the facility's aftercare programming, alumni network, and life-skills education can help support the transition toward a more independent lifestyle. Family involvement may also continue during aftercare.
