  • Evening routine: Clients eat dinner between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., then move on to more group meetings, a recovery meeting at 7:30 p.m., some down time, and lights out at 10:30 p.m.
  • Flexible adjustments: Daily schedules usually remain consistent for clients, but schedules can change as clients progress and needs change.
  • Nature-informed therapy: The facility’s therapy approach uses outdoor settings to help clients focus on themes like navigating anxiety, building resilience, practicing acceptance, moving from grief to gratitude, and reconnecting to joy through being in nature.

“Stabilization may open the door to recovery, but real recovery is about building a life someone actually wants to return to.” — Dr. Jennifer Richards, Chief Clinical Officer at BriteLife Recovery

Developing your care plan

  • Admissions assessment: On arrival, clients meet a counselor who screens for substance use and mental health needs, and work with clients to build a care plan based on individual needs.
  • First three days: Clients get a thorough nursing assessment and medical evaluation. They also meet with their primary therapists and are introduced to other members of the care team.
  • Medically supervised detox: Detox starts right away and includes 24/7 nursing support, oversight by a licensed physician, and groups that focus on breathwork, muscle relaxation, and self-compassion exercises.

“For any change to be internalized, we really need to be targeting the mind, body, spirit, and nervous system — all of these things at once.” — Dr. Jennifer Richards, Chief Clinical Officer at BriteLife Recovery

Who you will meet with

  • Counselors and therapists: Clients meet with a counselor and work with therapists through individual and group sessions.
  • Medical and psychiatric staff: Nursing staff are available 24/7, with psychiatric and physician support for detox, medication management, and mental health care.
  • Case managers: Clients work with case managers early on in the treatment process to determine a discharge plan and next steps in recovery.
  • Entire care team: The leadership team, grounds staff, housekeeping, and ancillary providers are also part of the large and important community supporting clients through recovery.

“Our job is to help people rebuild connections… through strong clinical work, through a healthy community, through experiential therapy.” — Dr. Jennifer Richards, Chief Clinical Officer at BriteLife Recovery
