Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Looking for structured substance use treatment but don’t require 24/7 inpatient monitoring; stepping down from residential care; want supportive housing options while in treatment; need to balance recovery with work and family responsibilities; have private insurance, Medicare, TRICARE, or are able to self-pay.

  • Not a fit if: Need acute, hospital-level care, medical detox, or 24/7 residential treatment; want a self-directed recovery approach; not willing to participate in frequent group therapy and clinical care; have Medicaid or are uninsured and unable to self-pay.

What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • Placement and assessments: A pre-admission phone call lasting 20 to 25 minutes allows staff to recommend the right level of care. When a program starts, clients complete an hour-long biopsychosocial assessment with a clinician.
  • Treatment customization: Assessment results and analysis of clients’ background helps clinicians tailor plans to individual needs. These plans are reassessed and adjusted as clients move through the program.

Who you will meet with

  • Therapists: Licensed therapists lead one-on-one therapy sessions at least once a week.
  • Care coordinators: Assist with intake and scheduling appointments and provide assistance during daily group session transitions.
  • Psychiatrists: Work with clients who have co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Case managers: Meet with clients once a week to coordinate services, review treatment progress, help with transitions between care levels, and assist with aftercare planning.
  • Housing managers: Clients who choose to stay in supportive housing meet with housing managers who oversee rules including curfews and substance use screenings.

Typical schedule

  • PHP: The PHP provides full-day care from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch is served at 12 p.m. during a one-hour break. Clients participate in approximately 6 group therapy sessions per day along with other wellness activities.
  • IOP: The morning track runs between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. The afternoon track is held from 1 to 4 p.m. Clients can choose what works best with their schedules. The IOP meets 3 to 5 days per week.
  • Treatment approaches: Evidence-based methods involve cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). Trauma counseling and relapse prevention are also part of care. Clients participate in life skills education and holistic activities such as mindfulness, breathwork, and art therapy.

Living experiences and amenities

  • Games and relaxation spaces: During breaks and between sessions, clients can spend time in a lounge with a TV or socialize on an outdoor patio. The center also has foosball and ping-pong tables to enjoy.
  • Recreational outings: Group outings include trips to the beach, seasonal pumpkin patch visits, and hiking excursions.

Aftercare

  • Step-down care: Clients can move up or down between PHP, IOP, and regular outpatient sessions in any direction that aligns with their needs and progress.
  • Alumni community: Graduates become part of an alumni network that hosts sober social events and volunteer opportunities and provides peer mentorship in person or online. Monthly relapse prevention workshops are held to reinforce coping skills.

How we research treatment facilities

Across the site, our team has conducted over 1,000 pre-admissions calls to better understand the patient experience, interviewed facility clinical leaders, performed facility background checks, and compared our information against trusted public data sources.

Our research process begins with data from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), accrediting bodies including The Joint Commission and CARF, government licensing agencies, and other trusted sources. From there, our team conducts significant original research, including:

- Pre-admissions calls: We speak with admissions staff to get a candid picture of patient experience.

- Background checks: We review complaints from past clients, media reports, actions taken by accrediting bodies, and positive recognition from notable organizations.

- Clinical interviews: We have in-depth conversations with clinical leadership, often lasting up to one hour, that give us a better understanding of clinical care.

- Data partnerships: We ingest and analyze exclusive data that provides information about in-network insurance status, cost, and more.

Research varies by facility. Each facility profile shows which research steps we completed and when each step was last performed. Learn more about our research process and background checks.

How we evaluate treatment facilities

These data help us develop a Trust Score for each facility—a simple letter grade that helps you assess how much confidence to place in a facility based on the information available to us. Trust Score considers accreditation, operating history, notable recognition, and concerns identified during our background check. Our Trust Score is an objective rating that is never influenced by advertiser payment. Learn more about our Trust Score methodology.

A Trust Score is a starting point, not a guarantee of treatment quality or outcomes. Please contact us if you would like to update or correct facility information.
