Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Adults who are stepping down from residential treatment into PHP or IOP; prefer a small program where staff know them personally; want frequent contact with psychiatry, therapists, and case managers; are interested in supportive housing; value evidence-based treatment combined with daily holistic programming.

  • Not a fit if: Adults who need detox or residential treatment; want a large campus with extensive evening or recreational programming; prefer a highly supervised living environment over supportive housing with personal responsibility.

What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • Before treatment begins: Prior to admission, clients undergo an in-depth clinical phone assessment. During the call, the admissions team reviews treatment history, discusses clinical concerns, and determines whether the program is the right fit.
  • Personalized treatment planning: Care plans are developed within the first seven days and are built with the help of a therapist, counselor, and group facilitators and are based on the client's needs. The plan is intentionally fluid and goals are updated throughout treatment as progress is made.

Who you will meet with

  • Psychiatric and care coordination: A psychiatric nurse practitioner or psychiatrist provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management. An individual case manager helps coordinate care and supports treatment planning.
  • Therapy and family support: Clients meet with a primary therapist and group facilitators who lead daily group sessions. Those participating in family therapy will also meet with a family therapist.

Typical schedule

  • Daily PHP schedule: The daily schedule for PHP usually takes place Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It includes about five hours of clinical programming and hourly treatment groups with 10-minute breaks between groups. Typically clients receive an hour-long lunch break where they may leave the campus, bring lunch from supportive housing, or relax on an outdoor patio.
  • Weekly treatment experience: The weekly clinical treatment experience can include medication management, two individual therapy sessions, one individual case management session, daily process groups, psychoeducation groups, dialectical behavior therapy informed skills groups, and daily holistic programming.
  • Family therapy and support: Virtual family groups take place every two weeks with a dedicated family therapist. Sessions are also available in person. Weekly family updates are also available if the client consents to them. Family involvement is not on a fixed schedule. It is incorporated when determined to be clinically appropriate.

Living experiences and amenities

  • Supportive housing: The recovery home houses about seven residents in private or shared rooms. Clients have the ability to bring a personal vehicle but transportation to treatment is also available. Residents cook their own meals and grocery shop independently. The nightly curfew is 9:45 p.m.

Aftercare

  • Continuing care planning: Discharge planning begins before clients complete treatment. Typically clients step-down from PHP to IOP as they gain and maintain stability. This includes continued therapy, psychiatry, medication management, case management, counseling, and holistic services.
  • Recovery support services: Additional recovery support after treatment may include relapse prevention planning, support meetings, alumni programming, online alumni groups, and professional re-entry support.

Pre-admissions experience

The admissions representative was friendly, easy to talk to, and took the time to clearly explain the program without making the conversation feel pressured. They answered questions thoroughly, explained what to expect before admission, and were transparent about treatment, housing, and costs.
