A women’s residential program with a long, structured step-down path

Commitment House at Elizabethtown offers a residential substance use treatment program for women, including detox. Clients can then move through increasingly independent step-down stages. Residential care typically lasts about four weeks. Clients then move into four weeks of residential transitional care, which has a greater focus on reintegrating into society and participating in 12-Step meetings. The next step is 4–6 weeks of PHP five days a week, followed by eight weeks of IOP for three days a week, and then outpatient treatment one day a week. Clients stay in sober living with 24-hour supervision during outpatient care rather than immediately returning to independent living.

Treatment for polysubstance use alongside co-occurring physical and mental health needs

Clients with substance use disorders can also receive support for chronic or urgent medical and mental health conditions. Clinicians deliver nonjudgmental, trauma-informed, person-centered care, including special support for those who need medical management, such as PICC line management.

Recovery work and practical support

Treatment includes various evidence-based approaches, such as individual and group therapy and trauma-informed care. Clients participate in relapse prevention and 12-Step programs as they prepare to reintegrate into the community. Throughout their time in Commitment House programs, clients also receive case management, peer support, employment assistance, and access to a GED program.
