What to expect
Typical schedule
- Evidence-based therapies: Programs consist of clinician-led group and individual therapy. Approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), accelerated resolution therapy (ART), and relapse prevention.
- Holistic approaches: Mind-body-spirit methods include art therapy, meditation groups, and sound baths. Other specialized wellness groups are held on rotating topics such as crystals and essential oils.
- Peer recovery: Clients can choose to explore both 12-step and science-based SMART recovery meetings to see what works best for them and fits with their values.
Who you will meet with
- Therapists: Lead individual and group therapy sessions, and are a key part of a two-to-three-person treatment team that works with clients regularly.
- Medical team: Monitor clients during withdrawal management (detox), prescribe medications for addiction treatment (MAT) when needed, and see to overall health.
- Psychiatrists: Treat clients with co-occurring mental health conditions. Psychiatrists can prescribe mental health medications when appropriate.
- Recovery specialists: Provide specialized, practical guidance with 12-step work from a peer perspective.
Developing your care plan
- Detailed assessments: Before treatment begins, staff take an assessment of clients’ substance use, mental health, and care history. Family members can participate in this process if the client desires. Once admitted, clients receive full medical assessments and lab testing.
- Client collaboration: Clients work with staff to create a care pathway adapted to their unique needs. The plan can be adjusted as clients progress through treatment.
Living experiences and amenities
- Quiet ranch environment: Infinite Recovery Buda is located on a 40-acre ranch outside of Austin, Texas. Days are structured and focused on peer community connections.
- Outdoor activities: The property has plenty of outdoor space for clients to enjoy and go on nature walks. Nature-based experiential therapies are offered, using the setting as part of treatment.
- Fitness: Clients have access to a swimming pool and a gym with a boxing ring to both keep up with their physical health and provide stress relief.
- Family participation: The facility hosts a two-day intensive family program designed to educate loved ones about substance use and build communication skills. Family therapy is also offered when desired.
Aftercare
- Full continuum of step-down treatment: The entire spectrum of treatment is available in one location: withdrawal management, residential treatment, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and regular outpatient sessions. Clients can move up or down between care levels as their needs evolve.
- Alumni support: After clients graduate from formal treatment, staff follow up with them within a day, then at seven days, then at thirty days, to make sure they are doing well. An alumni program offers sober events, aftercare group therapy, and the ability for clients to call a counselor when needed.
