What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • Initial assessment: Clinicians assess clients’ needs upon admission to determine the appropriate level of care. Those who need withdrawal management typically complete detox on-site with 24/7 supervision before transitioning into residential programming.
  • Group therapy: Group therapy is the primary treatment approach, used to address both substance use and mental health concerns. Therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) as well as trauma-informed care.
  • Complementary therapeutic approaches: Clients attend weekly individual therapy sessions to set and track goals, evaluate progress, and plan for aftercare. Medical care and medication management are also available as needed alongside behavioral treatment. Who you will meet with
  • Medical staff: On-site medical care includes 24/7 nursing support and medication management. Clinical suites are available for ongoing medical oversight and detox care.
  • Licensed therapists: Professional counselors and therapists meet with clients for weekly individual sessions and facilitate groups. Typical schedule
  • Daily structure: Clients have a set wake-up time and scheduled meals. Treatment occupies most of the day, with organized group therapy blocks focusing on substance use and mental health concerns, such as anxiety and depression. Individual counseling occurs at least weekly.
  • Wellness and recovery: Physical activity and holistic exercises are also a big part of treatment. Clients can go off-campus to CrossFit and the gym three times a week, attend on-site yoga twice a week, and take part in Sunday breathwork groups. Off-site Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings are optional.
  • Downtime: Clients have scheduled free time when they can read, watch TV, journal, or nap. They can also spend time with peers in the lounges or attend movie nights or other planned evening recreational activities. Living experiences and amenities
  • Functional, treatment-centered accommodations: The facility has dedicated individual, group, and family therapy rooms as well as on-site clinical suites for detox and medical oversight. Clients stay in private or shared bedrooms. Tech use is purposefully limited; clients do not have unrestricted access to cell phones or computers.
  • Fitness and recreation: Clients can socialize in TV lounges and common spaces. There’s also an outdoor courtyard, yoga and mindfulness programming, plus a fully equipped fitness studio on-site and scheduled off-site gym activities.
  • Family visitation: Families can visit on the weekends, though these must be scheduled in advance, and they can reach patients through the facility’s phone line. Aftercare
  • Early planning: Aftercare planning begins before discharge with personalized relapse-prevention planning, options for continued therapy, and connections to local recovery meetings.
  • Alumni network: After transitioning out of residential treatment, clients have lifetime access to an alumni network that hosts various events, provides mentoring, and maintains connections with various services.
