Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Adults seeking structured outpatient treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions; do not require 24/7 inpatient or residential care; are stepping down from detox or a higher level of care; prefer a 12-step based program that incorporates clinical therapy and holistic services; value a home-like environment; are comfortable maintaining a higher level of independence; have private insurance or can self-pay.

  • Not a fit if: Those who require on-site medical detox or 24/7 inpatient treatment or residential care; need a highly structured, fully supervised environment; prefer a non-12-step approach; are not comfortable with an outpatient model, with connection to daily life maintained outside of programming; rely on Medicaid for insurance coverage.

What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • Assessment and intake: The process starts with a pre-assessment through the admissions team, followed by a full intake that includes medical and psychiatric evaluations, as well as a urine screening.
  • Individual plan creation: After admission, clients work with an assigned therapist to collaboratively develop a personalized treatment plan. The plan is based on substance use history, mental health needs, and personal goals. Ongoing adjustments are made through regular sessions and optional family involvement when relevant or requested.

Who you will meet with

  • Primary therapist: Clients are assigned to a primary therapist who serves as the main point of contact for their care. This includes one-on-one sessions and continued collaboration to develop and adjust treatment plans based on individual needs and progress. The primary therapist also assigns take-home therapeutic work such as journaling and worksheets.
  • Psychiatrists and mental health clinicians: Licensed professionals meet with individuals for initial evaluations, then provide ongoing support for mental health needs to include medication management and therapy.
  • Medical staff: Medical team members are involved during intake to complete physical assessments and continue supporting health needs throughout treatment.
  • Group facilitators and program staff: Clients participate in addiction education, daily group therapy, and structured sessions led by both clinicians and specialists. Additional providers are brought in for focused topics such as trauma-related care.

Typical schedule

  • Daily treatment structure: Treatment programming throughout the day includes group therapy, addiction education, and specialized groups such as trauma focused care and medication management education. Weekly individual therapy is consistent though most of the day is centered around peer interaction and group-based work.
  • Time for independence and routine: Beyond core clinical programming, clients are provided time for recovery-related activities within the program and in the local community. Downtime is built into the schedule for rest and personal reflection. This can include completing therapeutic assignments, maintaining personal routines, and participating in gym visits approximately 3-4 times per week.

Living experiences and amenities

  • Home-like environment and daily living: Care takes place in a warm, non-institutional setting designed to provide comfort and a low-pressure environment. Optional supportive housing is available during PHP, with a focus on maintaining independence, to include managing personal routines and cell phone access with limitations.
  • Activities and wellness: Clients participate in recovery-focused activities within the program and also in the community. Additional wellness support is available through holistic services such as sound therapy, yoga, and Reiki to support physical and emotional well-being.

Aftercare

  • Step-down support and continued care: Treatment is designed to support transitions from higher levels of care such as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs into outpatient care, with continued access to therapy, relapse prevention, and education, as well as structured support as clients progress.
  • Long-term recovery support: The program encourages ongoing participation in 12-step recovery and maintaining connection to support systems and community after treatment. Alumni Coordinator support is also available.
