Men stay in private rooms, eat meals prepared by a private executive chef, and can use their personal smartphones and laptops during their stay. Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Men looking for 24/7 residential treatment in a luxury setting; older professionals and business executives; prefer a private, small-group environment with frequent individual therapy; want to use their personal devices during residential care; need to schedule work around recovery sessions; have private insurance or want to self-pay.

  • Not a fit if: Those who need acute, hospital-level care; men under 30 unless they are advanced in their professional careers; prefer a city-based environment; looking for outpatient-only or self-directed treatment; have Medicaid, Medicare, or are uninsured and unable to self-pay.

What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • Detailed assessments: When treatment begins, clients complete thorough assessments so they can be placed in the right level of care, and so needs can be better understood. Care staff take medical, psychiatric, and substance use assessments so they can provide recommendations.
  • Personalized recovery: Each treatment plan is unique and adapted to men’ specific needs and goals. Assessment results help clinicians to customize these plans with client input. These plans can be reassessed, and adjustments can be made as men progress or face challenges.

Who you will meet with

  • Master’s-level therapists: Work with clients in at least three one-on-one therapy sessions every week. This can be increased to five sessions per week if needed. Therapists also lead group sessions throughout the day.
  • Doctors and nurses: Provide medical attention during residential care. Medications for addiction treatment (MAT) can be prescribed when appropriate.
  • Psychiatrists: There to help men who are facing mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, burnout, and PTSD.
  • Support staff: Includes behavioral health technicians (BHTs) who attend to everyday needs and concerns.
  • Case managers: Help clients with practical needs such as FMLA paperwork and care transitions.

Typical schedule

  • Highly adapted programming: Schedules can vary significantly based on individual treatment plans. For example, men may participate in sunrise gratitude reflections, morning process groups, afternoon one-on-one therapy and meetings with a doctor and dietician, evening recovery meetings, and weekend art therapy or fitness.
  • Time for outside responsibilities: Arrangements can be made for professionals to keep up with their work during residential care. Therapy sessions can be scheduled around meetings and other responsibilities as needed.
  • Evidence-based therapies: Proven clinical methods include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma counseling, and relapse prevention.
  • Chef-prepared meals: A nutritionist dietician designs the menu, and meals are prepared by executive chefs.
  • Fitness and wellness: A full gym is located on-site. A fitness coach comes into the facility to provide personal training services. Biweekly massage and acupuncture sessions are offered.

Living experiences and amenities

  • Private rooms and upscale accommodations: Treatment takes place on a luxurious, five-acre estate, with a small residential community of only ten men maximum, and often even less. Clients stay in private rooms for maximum comfort.
  • Peaceful outdoor spaces: The property has a labyrinth, zen garden, outdoor swimming pool, and a waterfall with a meditation grotto behind it.
  • Recreation: During downtime, men can enjoy a putting green, a basketball court, and games such as ping-pong.
  • Equine therapy and animal interactions: The estate has an on-site stable where clients can participate in equine-assisted therapy — guided, peaceful interactions with horses. There is also a farm with chickens and turtles. Clients can sometimes bring their dogs with them to treatment. This is decided on a case-by-case basis.
  • Flexible tech policy and visitation: There are no restrictions on personal smartphones, laptops, and other electronic devices. Family visits can be prearranged.

Aftercare

  • Referrals: Men leave treatment with an individualized discharge plan. This can include referrals to outpatient providers, therapists, mental health specialists, and doctors.
  • Lifetime alumni support: When men graduate from the program, they become part of a lifetime alumni fellowship. Some of the benefits are social gatherings, virtual meetings, newsletters, and long-term support for both clients and their families.
