Who is this facility a good fit for?
Best fit if: Adults seeking detox followed by residential treatment; looking for a smaller residential environment; needing support for co-occurring mental health concerns or complex medical conditions; wanting both clinical and wellness-based treatment; wanting a recovery approach that is not limited to one philosophy; seeking a luxury residential experience; looking for bilingual care (Spanish); women who are pregnant and in their first or second trimester.
Not a fit if: Adults looking for outpatient care options; needing unrestricted access to a phone; wanting an open visitation policy; looking for a program with a large peer community.
What to expect
Developing your care plan
- Pre-assessment: The first step is a 15-minute telephone pre-assessment. The medical director reviews this information to determine if this program is a good fit. If someone is a good fit, the admissions team can help with practical logistics, including travel, childcare, pet care, and transportation assistance.
- Further evaluation: After arrival, each client receives a psychiatric evaluation and a full biopsychosocial assessment that considers biological, psychological, and social factors contributing to substance use. These assessments are used to create individualized treatment plans.
- Multiple approaches to treatment: Treatment can address co-occurring mental health concerns and trauma, and multiple approaches can be integrated into care plans. These can include detox, individual and group therapy, MAT, and 12-Step and non-12-Step approaches.
Who you will meet with
- Clinical medical director: Reviews the pre-admission assessment data to determine if the program is the appropriate level of care.
- Psychiatrist: A psychiatrist performs the psychiatric evaluation and biopsychosocial assessment after clients enter the program.
- Master’s-level clinicians: These professionals lead individual and group therapy sessions.
- Medical and nursing staff: Provide 24/7 care and monitoring for clients in medically supervised detox.
- Wellness providers: Professionals specializing in acupuncture, chiropractic care, and yoga are also brought into the program.
Typical schedule
- Morning and early afternoon: From 9 a.m.-3 p.m., clients attend treatment groups and group therapy sessions with breaks. They also participate in daily individual therapy.
- Late afternoon and evening: From 3-5 p.m. and into the evening, clients generally have free time, though this can change depending on the day.
- Additional programming and activities: Clients may also participate in acupuncture, yoga, and chiropractic visits, as well as on- and off-site recovery meetings and beach outings.
- Family contact: Weekly family groups are available. In-person visitation is handled on a case-by-case basis and requires approval from the client’s primary therapist. Therapist-approved family phone calls are also available.
Living experiences and amenities
- Small residential environment: The facility has space for 14 clients, with bedrooms accommodating two people.
- Chef-prepared meals: Clients receive three professionally catered meals a day, with keto, gluten-free, dairy-free, and pescatarian options available.
- A variety of wellness opportunities: On-site therapeutic massage, yoga, acupuncture, and physical therapy are available. Clients can also get IV vitamin support during recovery, and registered service animals, including dogs and cats, are permitted. Multiple recreational activities are also offered, including basketball and beach trips.
- Bilingual care: Every member of the team is fluent in English and Spanish, and complete residential treatment is available in Spanish.
Aftercare
- Customized planning: Staff help develop customized aftercare plans for each client based on their needs, including a written relapse-prevention strategy.
- Preparing for independent living: Job training and financial planning are part of residential life-skills work and programming to help prepare clients for transitioning out of residential treatment.
Pre-admissions experience
We conducted a series of pre-admissions calls, the most recent on July 29, 2026, to evaluate response time, transparency, and patient experience.
We reached out to Still Detox and found the admissions team representative to be polite, low-pressure, and easy to talk to. They provided information about the general operations of the facility but did not offer specific details about medical or therapeutic approaches. The representative was completely transparent about out-of-pocket pricing, phone restrictions, and the visitation policies.
