Men’s Christian residential and outpatient substance use and mental health care with special programs for veterans and first responders. A NeuroFaith treatment model combines neuroscience and trauma care with faith-based principles. Only 15 men are admitted at one time, allowing for focused attention from Master’s-level therapists. Clinical approaches are complemented by donkey and equine therapy, hiking, and weekend camping. Men also attend frequent 12-step meetings and Bible study groups. The center partners with CrossFit for fitness classes and personal training. Family programs are offered to help men reconnect with loved ones. AnchorPoint Recovery accepts private insurance, TRICARE, and self-pay.

Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Men looking for Christian faith-based recovery; veterans and first responders; want step-down care from residential to outpatient and sober living; desire a 12-step model with peer support; want to keep their personal devices during treatment; interested in outdoor wellness activities; have private insurance, TRICARE, or want to self-pay.

  • Not a fit if: Those who need acute, hospital-level care or withdrawal management (detox); prefer a non-12-step recovery approach; don’t want a faith component to recovery; want self-directed treatment; not interested in outdoor activities as part of care; have Medicaid, Medicare, or are uninsured and unable to self-pay.

What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • Detailed assessments: When treatment begins, clients receive a biopsychosocial assessment. This covers medical and mental health history, as well as any need for medication management.
  • Client-adapted treatment: Care is tailored to each client’s unique needs, including their personal goals and the severity of their substance use. Discharge planning begins right from the start.

Who you will meet with

  • Master’s-level therapists: Work with clients twice a week for one-on-one therapy and lead group sessions multiple times per day.
  • Medical team: Includes a clinical director, medical providers, nurses, and a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
  • Behavioral health technicians (BHTs): Assist clients with day-to-day needs in residential treatment. Some BHTs are alumni of the facility.
  • Recovery peers: AnchorPoint emphasizes brotherhood and peers supporting each other throughout the program.

Typical schedule

  • Daily programming: Days consist of frequent process groups and education sessions, with integrated spiritual care. Men participate in one-on-one therapy twice each week. Those who have co-occurring mental health conditions receive psychiatric care.
  • Evening meetings: Men attend 12-step meetings and accountability meetings in the evenings for mutual peer support.
  • Wellness activities: Treatment includes a strong wellness component with regular opportunities for outdoor recreation. Men can go hiking and enjoy weekend camping trips. Gym access with CrossFit options is offered several times per week.
  • Animal-assisted therapies: Men have the opportunity to bond with donkeys and horses with therapist guidance.

Living experiences and amenities

  • Comfortable accommodations: Men stay in a modern facility with a maximum of 15 people. Bedrooms are usually shared with one roommate, though private room options may be available. All meals are provided.
  • Weekly visitation: Loved ones can visit on Sunday afternoons. The visiting hour window is about four hours long.
  • Flexible technology policy: Clients can keep their personal devices with them during treatment, allowing them to stay connected to work and family responsibilities.

Aftercare

  • Step-down transitions: Care staff can help men transition from residential to outpatient care when they are ready. Sober living accommodations can also be arranged.
  • Aftercare connections: Men leave treatment with a personalized discharge plan in place. This can include recovery coaching, connections to sponsors, referrals to outside treatment providers, and employment support.
