Hybrid, structured intensive outpatient program

Clients in the IOP at Master Center in Chesterfield attend three-hour group therapy sessions four times per week. Programming combines education, therapy, and real-world application of skills learned in treatment. Clients first attend an on-site intake and biopsychosocial assessment to determine the appropriate treatment approach. Most programming can be completed virtually, but clients can also request more in-person visits.

Physician-led care with detox and MAT

Treatment is doctor-led, and medical evaluations inform care. Clients can get support for alcohol and opioid detox on an outpatient basis, and MAT is available for ongoing management when clinically appropriate. Rather than functioning as a standalone service, medication can be paired with individual and group counseling.

Dedicated peer recovery coaches

Clients are paired with a dedicated recovery coach who stays with them throughout their recovery. Coaches offer guidance and encouragement between sessions and help clients navigate care and connect with resources, using lived experience to guide support.

Therapy approaches and groups for different populations and needs

Individual and group counseling sessions can use various approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Master Center also offers more than 40 virtual groups every week, including options for veterans, healthcare professionals, men, and women. Other groups may focus on specific approaches to treatment, like dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) or music.

Recovery extends to relapse prevention, family, and community

A sustained recovery program helps clients understand warning signs and relapse-prevention strategies. Ongoing assessments and social support are also available. Families can participate in a four-part Zoom class series or a six-week counselor-led group therapy program to help them learn more about addiction and how to support the person in recovery. Aftercare recommendations are personalized, and clients are encouraged to participate in community support groups.
