Long-term residential treatment designed for women

Brooke’s House offers residential substance use treatment for women who are recovering from alcohol, opioid, and other substance use disorders. Clients typically stay in treatment for 3 to 6 months; those with complex needs or co-occurring disorders may require longer stays. Admission is by referral only.

Employment opportunities and education built into residential recovery

A key feature of this program is the emphasis on helping women become financially independent while in treatment. Workforce development programs provide job readiness training and opportunities for job placement. Clients can also pursue their GEDs, receive college preparation support, and develop practical skills for employment and independent living.

A combination of traditional counseling and experiential and wellness-focused activities

Traditional treatment is used alongside holistic approaches. Equine therapy gives clients opportunities to work with horses to develop trust and emotional awareness. Acudetox, a form of ear acupuncture, is also offered as a way to help clients manage stress and trauma symptoms and promote relaxation. Medications for addiction treatment (MAT) are available when appropriate, and the facility provides transportation to primary medical and dental appointments.

A structured, home-like environment with opportunities for family connection

Brooke’s House is intentionally designed to provide a welcoming environment with shared living spaces where clients can spend time together. Days follow a structured schedule with therapy, group activities, education, and recreation. Women are introduced to Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) to help establish peer connections. Personal cell phone use is restricted to certain times, and scheduled family visits and phone calls are permitted, though communication may be limited or monitored to support treatment.

Continued support after residential treatment

Clients have multiple options within the same organization after residential treatment. Brooke’s House offers transitional housing for clients who need a safe, stable place to stay. Ongoing treatment is available through an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and standard outpatient counseling. Aftercare includes recovery support groups, alumni activities, and follow-up meetings.

Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities

CARF reviews rehab programs to make sure they provide respectful, effective, and personalized care. For addiction treatment, CARF uses standards developed with the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), so this accreditation shows the program follows trusted, evidence-based guidelines for treating substance use.

How we research treatment facilities

Across the site, our team has conducted over 1,000 pre-admissions calls to better understand the patient experience, interviewed facility clinical leaders, performed facility background checks, and compared our information against trusted public data sources.

Our research process begins with data from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), accrediting bodies including The Joint Commission and CARF, government licensing agencies, and other trusted sources. From there, our team conducts significant original research, including:

- Pre-admissions calls: We speak with admissions staff to get a candid picture of patient experience.

- Background checks: We review complaints from past clients, media reports, actions taken by accrediting bodies, and positive recognition from notable organizations.

- Clinical interviews: We have in-depth conversations with clinical leadership, often lasting up to one hour, that give us a better understanding of clinical care.

- Data partnerships: We ingest and analyze exclusive data that provides information about in-network insurance status, cost, and more.

Research varies by facility. Each facility profile shows which research steps we completed and when each step was last performed. Learn more about our research process and background checks.

How we evaluate treatment facilities

These data help us develop a Trust Score for each facility—a simple letter grade that helps you assess how much confidence to place in a facility based on the information available to us. Trust Score considers accreditation, operating history, notable recognition, and concerns identified during our background check. Our Trust Score is an objective rating that is never influenced by advertiser payment. Learn more about our Trust Score methodology.
