Caron Treatment Centers - Adult Phase I Services

In Crisis?

Overview

Call800-678-2332 WebsiteVisit Website

A short-term, medically supervised treatment program with admissions usually available immediately. Depending on client needs, care may begin with about 2 days of detox (withdrawal management), followed by residential treatment with 24/7 medical support, a structured daily program, and a support team working to manage ongoing care as needs change. Treatment groups are age- and gender-based, with a focus on grouping clients in similar life stages. Programming is especially helpful for individuals who need stabilization, medical supervision, and guidance through step-down care.

  • Best fit if: Adults who need short-term residential treatment with medical oversight; want a structured daily schedule with group therapy, recovery programming, and consistent progress review by licensed professionals; and value being placed in groups with peers at similar life stages.
  • Not a fit if: Those who need long-term residential care; want outpatient-only treatment; prefer a smaller setting over a large campus; or are not interested in group-based programming.

What to expect

Typical schedule

  • Structured daily routine: Days in treatment usually begin with breakfast and morning meditation, followed by group therapy sessions, individual treatment, and down time to decompress.
  • Recovery focus: In the evenings, clients may participate in 12-step meetings, addiction education, or other recovery groups.
  • Flexible adjustments: Although structure, schedules can shift based on clinical progress and individual needs.

Developing your care plan

  • Pre-admission assessment: Before admission, clients are evaluated to determine substance use disorders, potential co-occurring mental health conditions, self-harm history, and overall mental health.
  • Plan creation: Clients work with licensed professionals to decide if this program is the right level of care for them.
  • Ongoing assessment: Treatment plans are reviewed regularly and adjusted if needed, with input from clinicians, family therapist, and support staff, based on individual needs.

Who you will meet with

  • Multidisciplinary team: Includes medical doctors, nurses, therapists, and clinical and support staff.
  • Psychiatric care: Psychiatric services are available for clients who may need it.

Living experiences and amenities

  • Gender- and age-specific housing: Clients live with peers in similar life stages, with separate programs for men, women, and young adults, to help create peer connections and comfortable group dynamics.
  • Outdoor and recreational focus: Clients participate in scheduled recreational breaks, offering opportunities for movement, reflection, and healthy breaks between sessions.
  • Family involvement: While visitation is limited, family can participate in a dedicated educational and therapy program, creating a guided and healthy way to stay involved in recovery.
  • Emotional support animals*: Emotional support animals are approved on a case-by-case basis.

Pre-Admissions Experience

We conducted a series of pre-admissions calls, the most recent on February 20, 2026 to evaluate response time, transparency, and patient experience.

When we reached out to Caron Treatment Centers, the admissions team was responsive and easy to talk to. They explained the differences between programs, the treatment structure, and the clinical team. The conversation felt transparent and information, with clear information on what clients could expect.

Client Reviews

Clients frequently describe life-changing recovery experiences and strong emotional support, especially from staff and alumni networks. A smaller number of reviews highlight concerns around safety, communication, and discharge or medical processes.

  • Treatment Quality & Outcomes (95% positive): Many clients report lasting sobriety and meaningful personal transformation, often describing the program as life-changing and effective across decades of recovery. "It changed my life… I have not craved alcohol or drugs since."
  • Staff & Care Experience (95% positive): Staff are widely described as compassionate, knowledgeable, and deeply supportive, with many clients emphasizing genuine care and individualized attention. Some reviews, however, raise concerns about isolated negative clinical or staff interactions. "The staff treated me with genuine compassion, respect, and dignity."
  • Support & Community (100% positive): Strong alumni networks, family programs, and peer support are recurring strengths, helping clients and families stay connected and supported long after treatment. "The support group gave us the strength to navigate our daughter’s addiction."
  • Facility & Environment (90% positive): The campus is often described as beautiful, comfortable, and well-equipped, with amenities like gyms, outdoor spaces, and quality meals enhancing the experience. Some note inconsistencies between different units. "The residential accommodations are comfortable and clean."
  • Access & Process (35% positive): While some clients found programming structured and helpful, others suggest the facility could improve communication around medical care, discharge planning, and administrative processes, including medication management and expectations during treatment.
