Who is this facility a good fit for?

  • Best fit if: Teens and young adults (primarily ages 13-25) who want structured outpatient addiction treatment; are willing to participate in a 12-step recovery model; value peer support, accountability, and long-term recovery community involvement.
  • Not a fit if: Need medications for addiction treatment (MAT); prefer a non-12-step approach; are seeking treatment designed primarily for older adults outside the program's target age range.

What to expect

Developing your care plan

  • Collaborative treatment planning: Care starts with a substance use evaluation. Staff develop a personalized treatment plan in collaboration with the client who helps define their own recovery goals. The goals need to support program expectations and long-term recovery.
  • Building practical recovery skills: The facility focuses on building recovery habits that clients can continue after treatment. These may include finding a 12-step sponsor, reading specific recovery literature, such as assigned chapters from the Alcoholics Anonymous Big Book, speaking during 12-step meetings, building healthier friendships, repairing family relationships, developing self-esteem, and learning how to actively use their recovery support network.

Who you will meet with

  • Therapeutic and peer support: A licensed therapist leads group therapy and individual counseling while peer recovery coaches provide mentorship, accountability, and daily support.
  • Clinical oversight: Clients will meet with a medical director who oversees their clinical care and monitors any co-occurring mental health concerns. Individuals will also meet with a clinical supervisor who reviews their treatment progress.

Typical schedule

  • Intensive outpatient programming (IOP): Involves a structured week that includes one individual counseling session a week, daily group counseling sessions, 12-step meetings held Monday and Wednesday evenings at the facility, required parent support groups on Tuesday evenings, and sober social events on Friday and Saturday evenings.
  • Aftercare schedule: After completing IOP, the less intensive aftercare schedule can include weekly individual counseling, two 12-step meetings each week, two facility-sponsored sober social activities each week, and two group therapy sessions each month. This typically lasts two to three months.

Living experiences and amenities

  • Social and recreation space: The facility includes a 3,000-square-foot "flex space" warehouse where clients have access to a coffee shop, basketball court, ping-pong, foosball, pool tables, and cornhole. Clients can access the space before and after programming.

Aftercare

  • Long-term alumni support: Alumni can continue to participate in activities with the facility for two years at no additional cost. This includes Monday and Wednesday recovery meetings, Friday and Saturday sober social events, and informal access to counselors for additional support during difficult times.
  • Planning for life after treatment: Discharge planning begins before clients leave IOP. Plans are focused on helping clients apply recovery skills. Practical discharge planning may include returning to high school, college, work, or finding employment. It may also cover living arrangements, budgeting and financial responsibilities, family expectations and continued support, and understanding how to continue recovery commitments after treatment is complete.
