What to expect
Developing your care plan
- Assessment: New clients complete comprehensive assessments so staff can gather details about substance use history, mental health needs, symptoms, treatment history, medications, scheduling requirements, and goals.
- Adjustments: Treatment plans can be adjusted as needed based on clinical progress, symptoms, relapse risk, daily functioning, and readiness for the next level of care.
Who you will meet with
- Admissions team: Meets with clients for assessments, scheduling, insurance review, and determining next steps.
- Therapists: Individual therapists lead one-on-one sessions, and group therapists or clinicians lead structured therapy groups.
- Psychiatrists: Address clients’ mental health concerns, complete evaluations, oversee medication management, and provide ongoing oversight.
Typical schedule
- Group therapy: Clinician-led, skills-based groups focus on helping clients build accountability, emotional regulation, and practical coping strategies.
- Individual therapy: One-on-one therapy is designed to help clients work through underlying issues and develop insight.
- Evidence-based approaches: Methods include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).
- Specialized concerns: Dedicated services are designed for clients facing codependency, intimacy-related concerns, sexual compulsions, pornography addiction, and trauma-related relationship patterns.
Aftercare
- Step-down care: As they progress through care, clients can move between PHP, IOP, and SOP, gradually decreasing treatment intensity and increasing independence.
- Personalized discharge planning: Continuing care plans may include relapse prevention, referrals to local substance use and mental health practitioners and community resources, continued therapy, crisis planning, and family education.
