Long-term supportive housing

Men facing homelessness can find housing and substance use treatment at the facility for up to two years. The program provides a safe and stable place for men to live in order to focus on their recovery. Three meals a day, primary healthcare, nutritional counseling, and medication management are part of care. Access to a computer allows men to apply for insurance, benefits, communicate with others, and search for employment opportunities, along with many other resources.

Dedicated services for hearing-impaired men

Hope House offers a Deaf Bridges to Recovery (DBR) program which provides specialized treatment for men who are deaf, deaf-blind, hard of hearing, or late-deafened. Certain staff members are trained in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiar with deaf culture. The facility is also equipped with flashing-light rooms, a closed-captioned RB, alarm clocks with bed shaders, video phones, and video remote interpreting. Men can also attend a Deaf Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meeting known as Silent Hope Recovery.

Treatment for substance use and co-occurring conditions

Along with substance use care, the facility treats men with co-occurring conditions such as mental health disorders including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Men facing HIV/AIDS receive specialized medical care. Individual and group counseling can help men work through both substance use and other concerns simultaneously.

Practical assistance for long-term stability

Men receive assistance with matters such as finding stable housing, preparing and searching for employment, navigating legal situations, applying for Social Security benefits, exploring financial resources, accessing GED and other education programs, and securing personal documents. The care team can also refer men to outside medical treatment when needed. All of these resources combined are designed to help men return to independent, substance-free living.

Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities

CARF reviews rehab programs to make sure they provide respectful, effective, and personalized care. For addiction treatment, CARF uses standards developed with the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), so this accreditation shows the program follows trusted, evidence-based guidelines for treating substance use.

How we research treatment facilities

Across the site, our team has conducted over 1,000 pre-admissions calls to better understand the patient experience, interviewed facility clinical leaders, performed facility background checks, and compared our information against trusted public data sources.

Our research process begins with data from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), accrediting bodies including The Joint Commission and CARF, government licensing agencies, and other trusted sources. From there, our team conducts significant original research, including:

- Pre-admissions calls: We speak with admissions staff to get a candid picture of patient experience.

- Background checks: We review complaints from past clients, media reports, actions taken by accrediting bodies, and positive recognition from notable organizations.

- Clinical interviews: We have in-depth conversations with clinical leadership, often lasting up to one hour, that give us a better understanding of clinical care.

- Data partnerships: We ingest and analyze exclusive data that provides information about in-network insurance status, cost, and more.

Research varies by facility. Each facility profile shows which research steps we completed and when each step was last performed. Learn more about our research process and background checks.

How we evaluate treatment facilities

These data help us develop a Trust Score for each facility—a simple letter grade that helps you assess how much confidence to place in a facility based on the information available to us. Trust Score considers accreditation, operating history, notable recognition, and concerns identified during our background check. Our Trust Score is an objective rating that is never influenced by advertiser payment. Learn more about our Trust Score methodology.
